Most Memorable Moments From the 2024 Summer Olympics

Following a spectacular opening ceremony on July 26th, the 2024 Summer Olympics saw many memorable moments outside the athletic performances, like the appearance of Celine Dion and funny moments from Snoop Dogg. Here are a few of the delightful things that happened.

A year and a half after revealing her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome, Celine Dion returned to the spotlight in a breathtaking way. Ascending the Eiffel Tower in a glittery gown, Dion performed Édith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour" to close out the opening ceremony, much to the delight of fans. Meanwhile, on July 28th in between qualifications, Team USA women's gymnastics team had an unforeseen encounter with Snoop Dogg. Spotted in the crowd dressed in a Team USA tracksuit, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles initiated a celebratory dance-off with the rapper, which was captured on video. Snoop Dogg was a lively presence throughout the Games, constantly supporting Team USA.

Speaking of Simone Biles, her dad charmed the crowds with his special gear to watch his daughter perform. Ronald Biles was dressed in a matching red Team USA cap and t-shirt and whipped out a pair of binoculars to make sure he didn't miss a single moment.

Team USA swimmer Ryan Murphy experienced an unforgettable reveal after winning his seventh Olympic medal. Having just won a bronze medal, he then spotted a sign from his wife revealing that the baby they were expecting was a girl! His wife commented on social media that it was a night they'd "never forget."

The Paris 2024 Olympics delivered numerous memorable moments that extend beyond athletic achievements, although there were plenty of those, too.
