In certain cases, a TV show might be so beloved and have such high expectations that no end could do it justice. 1. Game of Thrones – What Went Wrong?
Perhaps the most emotionally wrenching letdown in the history of television. After laying the story so exceptional, fans of this fantasy series should have been celebrating it for years. Season eight essentially ended any everlasting love for the show. Its follow-up prequel, House of the Dragon, has only recently redeemed Westeros in the eyes of fans. 2. House, M.D. TV Series Finale
After eight fantastic seasons starring Hugh Laurie as the cynical doctor, the series finale left viewers with a rather sour taste in their mouths because it revealed that House had faked his passing to avoid being charged with felony vandalism and spend time with his best friend Wilson, who was in a critical health condition. Concerning the conclusion, Margaret Lyons stated in an article that it’s hard not to wish that the show was going out on more of a high note, rather than the middle-range note that it’s been playing, and playing, and playing, for years.
3. The Predictable Ending of Girls
The conclusion of Girls was not surprising. However, it did feel like an afterthought for some reason. It seemed like the penultimate episode was the perfect finale, with episode ten coming across as something of a mediocre epilogue focusing on Hanna’s foray into motherhood. With all the “girls,” Marnie, Shoshana, Jessa, and Hannah, having one last party together while essentially realizing their lives are going in different directions, it seemed like the episode was the perfect finale.
4. Gossip Girl – What a Letdown!
Gossip Girl was WHO? The ending was rushed so much, including the love story between Blair and Chuck, but it was particularly notable for the fact that it led fans to flock to Twitter in response to the revelation that Dan Humphries, who played the role of the lonely boy himself, was Gossip Girl the entire time. Except for the fact that having him act as a gossip girl and, as a result, purposefully destroying his and his sisters’ lives was a move that made absolutely no sense at all. We are still not okay.
