Disney is a major part of childhood around the world, so it’s no surprise that adults hold a soft spot for the company and its iconic films and characters. Celebrities are no exception, and for some famous stars, their love for all things Disney goes beyond Disney-themed weddings or engagement parties. Some have even named their children after their favorite characters!

Jasmine Johnson

Dwayne Johnson, also known as the Rock, is an ex-WWE fighter and great actor who’s appeared in multiple box-office hits. He didn’t name his kid Maui, though, as much as we kind of wish he had.

His second daughter’s name is Jasmine, just like the sassy Disney princess from the film Aladdin.

Esmeralda Gosling

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendez are one of the sweetest celebrity couples out there, and when they had their daughter, they wanted to make sure she had a strong name.

They named her Esmeralda Amada after one of the main characters in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. They both loved the name and what the heroine stands for in the movie and the novel.

Halle Berry and her ex-partner Gabriel Aubry weren’t really sure what to name their daughter until they met her.

They ended up naming her Nahla, and while Nala is an important character in The Lion King, Nahla also means “honeybee” in Arabic, which is just too sweet.
