The Materials Used

Pure beeswax
Soy flakes
Ground cinnamon
Cinnamon sticks
Cinnamon essential oil
Star anise
Empty glass jars with lids
Heatproof jug
Small saucepan
Candle wicks
Candle stickers
Wick holder

How to Make It

Step 1: Add a small amount of water to the saucepan, then set the heat-resistant glass jug on top. Ensure that it does not touch the bottom of the pan, or the wax may burn.

How to Make It

Step 2: Using a measuring spoon, fill your candle jar with soy flakes. Add directly to the heat-resistant receptacle and allow it to melt as the water simmers.

Step 3: Clean the candle jar as much as you can. Let it dry or use a towel.

Step 4: Add the wax buttons to the bottom of the metal portion of the wick, and then press it down to the middle of the glass. The wax will help in keeping the wick in position. Insert the wick into a wick holder so that it will remain upright.

Step 5: After the wax has softened, stir it. Place it on a cooling rack and allow it to settle to approximately 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 6: Add 30 droplets of cinnamon essential oil to the mixture and stir well. Pour a small amount into the jar. Place four or five cinnamon sticks around the sides of the glass before the mixture hardens. Chopped cinnamon bark should be added to the candle. Allow it to settle before filling it. Add one teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the beeswax and stir. To achieve the ombre effect, add a small amount of pure beeswax to the top. Fill the container with melted wax and sprinkle star anise into it.
