Here's What Every Parent Should Have in Their Diaper Bag

Knowing how to organize a diaper bag is a talent in itself. Parenting is not easy, and parents often tend to forget some must-have items when going out and about. Having the right diaper bag is extremely important. The ideal one should have many pockets and storage pouches instead of only one compartment where you can lose everything. This way, you can properly organize all your stuff and quickly things. One of the most important things you can pack is a small first-aid kit with bandaids, antibiotic ointment, and diaper rash cream. That way you can treat any injuries immediately instead of waiting until you get home.

The name says it all, but a diaper bag must have diapers in it, especially if you're going to be away for long periods. We recommend packing one diaper for every two hours you'll be away from home. Then pack a few extras just in case, and get some plastic bags to dispose of the dirty diapers. Travel-size wet wipes packets are also perfect for your diaper bag as they don't take much space, and you can always refill them. A pack of 20 should be more than enough.

A portable changing pad is a must if you end up in a public place without easy access to a bathroom with a changing table. You can throw them away once you've changed the messy diaper, and you'll be good to go. Unfortunately, blowouts are sometimes inevitable, which is why you'll always need that extra pair of pants or socks. Don't load your bag with clothes, but make sure you have one extra outfit so you're prepared for any surprises.

Consider your baby's schedule and pack enough milk for the time you'll be away. You might also want to throw some nursing pads in the bag if you don't feel comfortable feeding in public places. If your baby is on solid foods, pack some small snacks like fruit, pureed pouches, crackers, and whatever your child likes. No one wants to deal with a "hangry" baby!
